Amy Mills

Thank you for visiting my page!

As you may well know, Parkinson's Disease has affected my life in more ways than one.
  1. My grandpa (mom's side) lived with it for many years, and passed away in 1992.
  2. I thought I'd never have to see a loved on suffer from PD again until 3-4 years ago, when my mom's oldest brother was diagnosed.
  3. Reality hit again, not once but twice, when a close friend my age was diagnosed with early onset PD.
  4. And, in February 2019, my dad, my biggest cheerleader was officially diagnosed with PD.

I know that modern medicine and medical research is so advanced compared to when Gramps had PD.  But, seeing those close to me live with PD, still isn't easy .

All of that, is why this year I am participating in The Michael J. Fox Foundation's (MJFF) Chicago Run/Walk.

More than 6 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease. As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this. MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.

Your gift will make a real difference: 100 percent of the Run/Walk proceeds will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s high-impact research programs.

Help me move a cure for Parkinson's disease over the finish line by making a donation today.

Thank you for your support!
